America’s Largest Independent Maritime Transporter
Based out of Mandeville, LA, Dennis Pasentine founded FMT in 1993 after purchasing two tug boats and seven barges in Pensacola, FL. Today, FMT proudly operates over 1,100 operational boats and barges, and transports everything from chemicals and pressure cargoes to crude oil and infrastructure materials.
FMT owns the complete marine transport process for its clients, which offers the company a competitive advantage, but it is not without its risks. Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, FMT’s success demands reliable electricity service. As Pasentine puts it, “having electricity to run the computers and have communication with the boats at all times is of utmost importance.” Therefore, selecting the state’s most efficient and extensive electricity provider, Cleco, was a no-brainer.
