Social Responsibility Goals

An Equitable, Future-Focused Company Vision

  • Cleco’s D&I goals are four pronged: utilize inclusive hiring and development practices to attract and retain a diverse workforce; value differences and embrace diverse perspectives; create an inclusive environment where every employee feels welcomed and respected; and broaden our diverse networking partnerships in the communities we serve.

In focusing on building both a diverse workforce and creating an inclusive work environment, we have taken measures to educate our internal talent on bias awareness as well as to revamp our hiring process through new job descriptions and gap/skills-based hiring.

  • Cleco’s commitment to environmental responsibility begins with our commitment to reducing our climate impacts. Currently, we are on track to meet our major 2030 targets: reduce carbon (CO2) emissions by 60%, nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions by 85% and sulfuric emissions (SO2) by 90%.

In accelerating our reduction ambitions, Cleco has re-focused our corporate goals to protect the present and future generations of the communities we serve as well as to preserve Louisiana’s natural environment.

  • From education and youth programming to health and wellness initiatives, Cleco employees work to support and strengthen our communities by collaborating with local non-profits and institutions and funding scholarship programs. Whether we are volunteering at the 519th Military Police Battalion Family Fun Day or hosting an annual Fan Drive to help our elderly customers stay cool in the summertime, we are here for you.

In 2021, we also streamlined our charitable giving process by implementing the Benevity Causes Portal. If you are a 501(c)(3), you can register your cause with Benevity to receive charitable employee donations and volunteer opportunities from Cleco and hundreds of other corporations.
