Cleco Power Economic Development Wins Third National Utility EDO Award
PINEVILLE, La. – For the third consecutive year, Business Facilities magazine has recognized Cleco Power as a top-performing Utility Economic Development Organization (EDO), honoring the team’s innovative approach to driving economic growth across Louisiana.
Cleco received the 2025 EDO Award in the Utility category for its impactful submission, “Moving the Investment Needle,” which highlights Cleco’s commitment to strategic site development, proactive business recruitment, and fostering long-term community partnerships throughout its 24-parish service territory.
“Receiving this national honor for the third year in a row is a testament to our team’s dedication to creating opportunities and delivering results for the communities we serve,” said Richard Cornelison, Director of Marketing and Economic Development at Cleco. “This recognition affirms that our work is helping move Louisiana forward as a competitive, business-ready location.”
Business Facilities, a leading site selection publication, launched its annual EDO Awards in 2023 to spotlight the most innovative and effective economic development programs in North America. This year’s awards recognized 27 organizations across five categories: Statewide, Utility, Large, Mid-Sized, and Small EDOs.
The Utility EDO category honors electric and gas utilities that play a central role in shaping the economic future of the regions they serve. Cleco Power and Florida Power & Light were the 2025 recipients.
