Cleco Among Nation’s Top Utilities for Economic Development
Cleco named one of the nation’s top utilities in Economic Development by Site Selection magazine
PINEVILLE, La. – Sept. 2, 2025 – Site Selection magazine named Cleco one of the nation’s top electric utilities in Economic Development for its role in bringing new business and jobs to Louisiana. The 2025 list includes 22 utilities.
“This is the first time Cleco has been among the top utilities for our economic development work, and it’s a very proud moment for our company,” said Eric Schouest, Cleco Vice President of Marketing and Governmental Affairs. “Economic development is one of the most powerful tools we have to improve the quality of life in our communities, and our hard work is paying off.”

In 2024, Cleco supported projects worth approximately $8 billion in capital investment and helped create 5,700 new jobs in its service territory.
Site Selection evaluates utilities annually based on corporate project activity, capital investment and job creation within their service areas. Additional criteria include questionnaire results and staff research.
